Kinematics and Dark Energy from Supernovae at z>1Dr. Adam Riess, STScI
Type Ia supernovae (SNe~Ia) provide the only direct evidence for an accelerating universe and the existence of dark energy. We are in the third year of the first space-based search and follow-up campaign for SNe Ia at z>1 using ACS and NICMOS on the Hubble Space Telescope. I will present results which delineate the kinematics of the expanding Universe and further characterize the nature of dark energy.
