Measurements of CP-violating asymmetries in B meson decays to CP eigenstates have, over the past few years, provided strong evidence that the CKM phase of the Standard Model can explain observed CP-violating processes. With improved sensitivity, these measurements can be now be used as a probe of physics beyond the Standard Model. Super B Factories, with luminosity increased by two orders of magnitude, will have the sensitivity to see subtle effects in extremely rare B meson decays, those dominated by “Penguin diagrams.” These measurements will play a crucial role in elucidating new phenomena discovered at the Large Hadron Collider.
