Quantum phase transitions: from antiferromagnets and superconductors to black holes Subir Sachdev, Professor of Physics, Harvard University

I will describe basic features of the theory of quantum phase transitions, and discuss its application to recent experiments on insulating antiferromagnets and on the cuprate superconductors. I will also note the remarkable connections between these theories and the quantum theory of black holes.
