The Biard Lecture: Basic Components of Solid-State Quantum Computing Hardware (video)

Charles M. Marcus, Villum Kann Rasmussen Professor, Center for Quantum Devices, Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen

This talk will look at the status and challenges facing three prospective solid-state components that may someday end up powering a quantum computer: spins in semiconductors, Josephson junctions, and Majorana zero mode devices. Aside from the engineering challenges, each system reveals interesting physics.
