Abstract
Cellular Automata (CA) are spatially organized discrete dynamical
systems. Large-scale CA simulations have been used as a laboratory
to study a variety of macroscopic physical phenomena. This talk will
discuss CA investigations into non-equilibrium thermodynamics, cluster
growth, self-organization and phase transitions. We will also discuss,
within a CA context, the problem of mapping computational dynamics onto
physical ones.
